What is expected from a successful BA?

 

  • BA in America is for analyzing, understanding and translating business needs into business/technical requirements with minimal supervision

 

 

Core Strengths

 

  • Requires knowledge of system development life cycle (SDLC) and implementation methodologies
  • Demonstrates proficiency in structured query languages (SQL) or analysis techniques
  • Must know BA techniques such as process models, data flow diagrams, or other diagramming tools and models
  • Working knowledge of programming, development, and technical architecture
  • Ability in workflow analysis including current state (as-is) flow evaluations, future state (to-be) flows, activity diagrams, decision tables, decision trees, and overall requirements design
  • Liaise with business and technology stakeholders and assist project leads in developing strong knowledge of the business and systems workflow
  • Inform/escalate project issues and facilitate issues resolution
  • Contribute to the writing of Business Requirements document, Functional Requirements document and SIT/UAT plans & and testing of new system functionality
  • Help in coordinating and conducting tests and program implementations, test assignments and confirm the results with business users
  • Assist in directing stakeholder reviews and issues identification and resolution
  • Contribute to the team’s regulatory and/or compliance knowledge base by taking part in industry calls, conducting research, contacting vendors and sharing findings with the team
  • Proficient in knowledge of excel, access, data usage, and word processing, data management tools and flow charting tools
  • Experience in Agile Methodology
  • Tracks and fully documents changes for functional and business specifications; writes detailed universally understood procedures for permanent records and for use in training
  • Identifies opportunities for improving business processes through information systems and/or non-system driver changes; assists in the preparation of proposals to develop new systems and/or operational changes
  • Conducts change impact analysis to assess the potential implications of changes and documents court business rules, functions and requirements
  • Maintains wizard-driver configuration tables in the case management system(s)
  • Facilitating design sessions with the implementation team to define the solution
  • Delivering elements of systems design, including data migration rules, business rules, wireframes, or other detailed deliverables
